LIVING COASTS, TORBAY

South American fur seals

Fur seals are found off the coasts of South America, semi-aquatic mammals which well adapted to life in and out of the ocean. Their beautiful hind flippers can rotate forward as well as back which allows them to be extremely agile on land as well as water. Here three female fur seals were spinning on the surface of the water while the male slept on a rock above.
